Critical Design Review of LCA TEJAS MK-2 project completed

The LCA Tejas Mk2 program has completed the Critical Design Review (CDR) with a total of 20 subsystems for the aircraft have been cleared by IAF for production. This clearance will provide opportunity to a number of Indian private firms to participate in this project. From 62 percent in Tejas Mark 1A, the plan is to touch 70 percent mark in indigenization for Mark 2 and so more foreign components will be replaced by locally developed. The completion of CDR has set the stage for metal cutting and then eventually the rolling out of a pre-production aircraft by the end of 2022.
