Navy gets Very Low Frequency submarine transmitting station

Indian Navy has commissioned a new advanced state-of-the-art very low frequency (VLF) transmitting station at INS Kattabomman in Tamil Nadu. The new facility will boost the ability to communicate with submarines, which have trailing wire antenna to pick up the coded VLF radio waves, on an uninterrupted basis throughout the year.
