Successful First Flight of UAV Panchi

India’s DRDO developed wheeled-version of UAV Panchi, has successfully made its maiden flight.  Panchi UAV can be used for intelligence gathering missions over hostile territory, reconnaissance, target designation, surveillance besides others. It is designed for battlefield surveillance and reconnaissance, target tracking and localisation besides artillery fire correction. Also, the next generation unmanned aerial vehicle Rustum-2, which is capable of operating at an altitude of 30,000 feet and 24-hour endurance with a payload of 350 kg, will be made available within a year.
