Dhanush successfully clears field trials

India has achieved another milestone, as 155 mm, 45-calibre artillery gun called Dhanush has cleared its field trials successfully. After meeting all the parameters, this gun is ready for manufacture in numbers. The India’s Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) has built Dhanush from manufacturing blueprints that Swedish company Bofors supplied to India as part of the controversial 1986 purchase of 410 FH-77 howitzers. Most likely OFB, will receive an order for building 114 Dhanush guns, to equip six artillery regiments.
