France has offered India the sale of 36 Rafale fighter jets in fly-away condition at the discounted price. It has offered the same price which it pays to French defence major Dassault Aviation to equip its own Air Force. The price per aircraft not only includes its own cost but also that for maintenance, training of pilots and technicians, armaments and spares. Currently no decision has been taken, including the pricing. The French Defence Minister will be visiting India next week to set up negotiations for the deal.
