HSL may collaborate with Hyundai to build warships

India’s PSU Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) is likely to collaborate with global shipping company Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), for warship construction. Cooperation between the two shipyards is expected to bring down the time-frame for construction of warships from five years to two years. The Indian shipbuilder has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HHI on cooperation in submarine building in September 2014. Now plans are to widen the agreement to include warship construction.
