Rosoboronexport inks MoU with India’s EEL

Russia’s Rosoboronexport has signed a general Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India’s Economic Explosives Limited (EEL) to manufacture explosives and ammunition parts in India, if it won the Indian contract. EEL is part of the Solar Industries Group, which has also signed a MoU with the Indian government during the Make in India week, for setting up a Rs1,500 crore plant to make Bi-Modular Charge Systems for the Army. It may start with a production capacity of 2 lakh charges a year, which will be eventually taken to 8 lakh units. Charges are the components which give a push to artillery shells.
