- DAC accorded AON for purchase of 61 Air Defence Guns for the Air Force, at approx cost Rs. 7,000 crore under the ‘Buy and Make’ procedure. It is 4 gun integrated system with radars and capable of shooting down small radar cross section targets like drones and low flying objects.
- DAC also approved a Rs 13,000 crore Weapons and Sensors package for Project-17 A. The mainis a Rs 50,000 crore stealth frigates - four to be built at Mazagon Docks and three at GRSE in Kolkata was inked in February 2015. The weapons and sensors package with long-range surface-to-air missile (LR-SAM) systems, jointly developed by DRDO and Israeli Aerospace Industries also include BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, Ajanta electronic warfare systems and Humsa-NG radars. This will be on a single vendor basis and such package is already fitted on the three Kolkata-class destroyers.
- Approval of new Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP) have been deferred to the next meeting likely to be held soon.
