India Close to Signing $1 Bn Spike ATGM Deal with Israel

India has reached the final stage of negotiation with Israel Rafael Advanced Defence Systems for the procurement of 5500 spike Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) systems and 275 launchers in completed and kit form along with an undisclosed number of simulators for the Indian Army. The $1 billion deal also includes ToT to India’s DPSU Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) to build around 30000 additional missiles and 1500 systems. Another Indian company Kalyani Strategic Systems will be supplying components and subassemblies and has already signed a joint venture with Rafael in this regards. The contract is likely to be confirmed and signed in coming month and the deliveries are expected to be completed in 48-60 month.
