India is all set to buy 155mm artillery gun

The MoD is on the verge of ordering 155mm artillery gun from Larsen & Toubro & its tie-up partner South Korea's Samsung Techwin which emerged as the shortlisted contender last year in the tender for 155 mm/52 caliber self-propelled tracked howitzers issued by Indian Army in 2011. The contract is near completion for placing an order; only minor modifications need to be done. The deal is to buy 100 self-propelled howitzers at Rs 4,500 Crores and will have a clause for a follow-on order of 50 more such guns.
