India becomes the ninth biggest military spender in world

As per the recently released SIPRI data, India has become the ninth biggest military spender in the world. The highest spender in the list is USA with spending of $640 billion, followed by China: $188 billion, Russia: $87.8 billion, Saudi Arabia: $67 billion, France: $61.2 billion, UK: $57.9 billion, Germany: $48.8 billion, Japan: $48.6 billion and India: $47.4 billion. Also, the world military expenditure fell to $1.75 trillion in 2013 a dip of 1.9% in real terms from 2012 due to cutbacks by the US and other western countries.
