India’s Defence Budget is on Fifth Position

India’s defence budget is on the fifth position in 2006 with annual increase by 8.5 per cent. Also, there is a ten per cent hike in 2017-2018 defence budget. In the list, the top spender is US (1, 686 billion), Second-China ($ 215), Third-Russia ($ 63.7 billion), Fourth- Saudi Arabia ($ 611 billion) and India $55.9 billions. The above figures are from SIPRI’s and in Indian context it also includes expenditure on the Paramilitary Forces.
