Indian Navy to get MH-60R Helicopters

The contract worth Rs 17,500 Crores for 24 Lockheed Martin-Sikorsky MH-60R helicopters through FMS route for the Indian Navy is likely to be inked by October-November 2019 as a replacement for the Sea King 42/42A. The deliveries are expected to begin 18 months after the contract is signed and all the MH-60Rs to be supplied by 2022. Armed with AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, MK 54 torpedoes and advanced precision kill weapons system rockets, the twin-engine helicopters can operate from frigates, destroyers and aircraft carriers.
